Senior Business Development Manager – Technology & Transformation Consultancy

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 base + uncapped commission

A fast-growing consultancy specialising in digital, technology, and business transformation is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join its expanding sales team. The company partners with organisations across sectors to deliver outcome-focused solutions that drive measurable business value.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, senior-level sales role focused on winning new business in the private sector. You’ll be responsible for generating your own pipeline, building relationships with senior stakeholders, and managing the full sales cycle for deals up to £250k. For larger, more complex opportunities, you’ll work alongside the Head of Business Development.
This role suits a proactive, commercially driven individual who thrives on autonomy and enjoys consultative selling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and qualify leads through outreach, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
  • Work inbound leads and opportunities from SDRs and marketing to build a strong pipeline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers in target organisations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for deals up to £250k.
  • Collaborate on larger enterprise opportunities with senior colleagues.
  • Work with presales to shape and price client engagements.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts.
  • Represent the company at industry events and forums.
  • Champion an outcome-based, consultative sales approach.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes.
Required Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in technology or software consultancy.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing sales cycles of 3–9 months with deal values from £50k to £250k+.
  • Strong prospecting and lead generation skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and pipeline management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Background in technology consultancy or digital transformation.
  • Existing network in relevant sectors.
  • Experience selling to both SMB and Enterprise clients.
  • Familiarity with value-based or outcome-based selling.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement.
  • Comfortable with public speaking or presenting.
  • Sector expertise in areas such as financial services, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing.
