Technical Support Engineer
 
My Yorkshire  based client is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Support  Engineer to provide a first class support function to end users across multiple sites.
 
Working in a small team, the IT Support Technician will:
  • Operate and manage the IT Helpdesk, triaging incoming tickets, undertaking diagnosis and resolution in line with predefined SLA’s, escalating where appropriate.
  • Provide a comprehensive second line support across hardware, software, networking and system access.
  • Undertake hardware and software installation and maintenance.
  • Undertake proactive maintenance and updates in order to mitigate risk.
  • Undertake accurate documentation for IT processes, system configuration and user guides.
  • Develop and update the knowledge base.
  • Undertake continuous improvement, staying current with the latest technology trends and best practices.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new starters.
  • Provide project support for major IT projects, taking ownership of assigned tasks ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Take an interest in the learning and support of Business systems and Data – specifically SQL, Reporting and Enterprise applications.
Technically, the successful IT Support Analyst will possess the following:
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Server 2016 onwards
  • Office 365 applications,
  • Microsoft InTune
  • Active Directory, Group Policies
  • Hyper-V
  • Backup technologies – ideally Veeam)
  • IP Telephony (Avaya / RingCentral).
  • Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Experience in managing wireless networks (Unifi)
  • Wide Area Networking using SonicWall Firewalls
  • Mimecast Security Solutions
  • Dell Server Hardware
  • HP Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Artificial Intelligence – Co-Pilot
  • SQL Server
  • Power BI
 
This role will necessitate a current driving licence and a willingness to travel throughout the UK as required
